iTunes Tuneup Plugin, Organize Your Music Library

If your iTunes library is anything like mine, your missing album cover art and song information for many of your songs in your library. I download a lot of mixtapes, many of which are completely free however, they do not come with any album art or correct artist information. Today I’m going to show you an amazing plug-in I found for iTunes that claims to be, “The #1 Plug-in For iTunes” called Tuneup.

“TUNEUP TRANSFORMS
YOUR MUSIC COLLECTION.
AUTOMAGICALLY.™”

• Automatically adds song info (Fixes Track 01 & Unknown Artist)
• Removes duplicate songs
• Adds missing album cover art
• Concert alerts for artists in your library

Here’s a glance at my iTunes library, as you can see it’s missing some album art and song information. Let’s put Tuneup to the test.

The Tuneup plug-in for iTunes comes with the following 4 features…

Clean — Accurately fixes mislabeled or missing song information (like “Track 01″ or “Unknown Artist”) using cutting-edge waveform recognition.

Cover Art — Scans your entire music collection in seconds and automagically™ fills in missing album artwork.

DeDuper — Intelligently finds and removes duplicate music files from your music library using waveform recognition.

Tuniverse — Delivers music videos, artist bios, concert alerts, social network integration and more.

Tuneup comes with a free trial allowing you 50 song clean ups, 25 album covers, 25 duplicate removals, and unlimited concert alerts. You can purchase the entire Tuneup bundle with unlimited access to all four features for $39.95 a year for 1 computer. If you only find one feature useful you can purchase any of the Tuneup features excluding Tuniverse for $19.95 a year. I’m just going to use the free trial :p.

After launching iTunes and creating a Tuneup account from the slide out menu on the right which is now attached to iTunes, Tuneup instantly found missing album cover art for 82 albums in my iTunes library. Under the Clean tap I dragged any songs I could find missing information and Tuneup correctly added song information however, it was off for a few songs but keep in mind I have a lot of songs off of mixtapes that are not well known.

After playing around with the Tuneup plug-in and organizing my music library, I found that the Cover Art and Tuniverse features are the most useful. With Cover Art filling in all my missing album covers for my songs I can now browse my music collection in cover flow with out missing any album covers which is awesome. If I was to buy a single feature from Tuneup I think I would go with Cover Art because half of the songs I download are missing cover art.

Tuniverse scans your iTunes library and alerts you when any of your artists are performing in a town close to you. This makes it easy to keep track of your favorite artists while they are on tour.
